My first board EVER was my Who's On Duty and When and Where is Taylor board. Thank Goodness I have come a long way from that...
I completely underestimated how hard stapling was and how complicated it was to find enough borders in a storage closet that match and can stretch the whole edge. I was afraid of the dye-cut machine and spacing was a struggle.
Where and When is Taylor was the first half I did. It told my residents where they could find me if they needed me and when I would be returning in case they could wait. The white circle on the left is a clock. I turned it to face inward for when I was in my room or for when I did not know when I'd return. I had 7 different places I could be (this year it is 4 because I hardly used some of the others). The thing that marked where I was is a TARDIS...more specifically it is me dressed like 9,10,11 in a TARDIS. For those who care: 9's shirt and jacket, 10's glasses, and sneakers, 11's bow-tie and fez, and the jeans are ME :).
I am a huge book nerd. So for the Who's on Duty part of my board I asked everyone their favorite book and quote and made mini books with a cut out of them inside it. That is supposed to be me in the Blue.
All and all the board was an excellent learning experience! There was no where to go but up ^
